Fraser Eagle Group launches local authority transport partnerships business

Innovative UK passenger transport group Fraser Eagle today announces the launch of new group company Fraser Eagle Bus Partnerships.

Fraser Eagle has established the new company to look at opportunities to partner local authorities on procurement and management of school and community transport provision.

“Local authorities are being asked to work miracles because of ever-shrinking transport budgets and the increasing cost of operator transport,” says Neil Atkins, managing director of Fraser Eagle Bus Partnerships.

“We feel there is an opportunity for Fraser Eagle to use its unique set of skills and buying power to work in partnership with Local Authorities, helping them to meet their statutory duties while keeping costs under control.

“This is what we have achieved in the rail industry and we now wish to apply this successful business model to local authorities.”

As well as partnering with local authorities, Fraser Eagle Bus Partnerships will also continue developing plans to provide bus services in towns and cities under Quality Bus contracts, which could be given the go-ahead by the government to start in 2009.

Fraser Eagle Group is best known for the managed transport services it provides to the rail and airline industries.

In recent years the company has diversified to provide managed taxi services, incident management transport, event transport and corporate travel services.

The company has a track record of providing large-scale transport projects nationwide in both emergency and pre-planned situations.

In 2007 the company will operate around 300,000 taxis and 60,000 coaches on behalf of its clients .
